Covenant House New York Project
Our team was tasked with creating a one-minute ad for Covenant House, a youth homeless shelter near the 42nd Street–Times Square station. During our visit, we were struck by the warmth and care embedded in the space—it felt welcoming, safe, and full of possibility.
Covenant House gives young people the chance to simply be themselves. It’s a place where they can take a breath, feel supported, and start building toward a future on their own terms. Their transitional programs offer guidance and stability, helping youth gain independence while staying in a space that truly cares for them.
Supporting Covenant House means helping young people access the resources and encouragement they need to move forward. Even in just one minute, we wanted to show how special this place is—and how much brighter the future can be with support.

Vignette studies of children using Covenant House facilities.
These study explorations highlight moments of joy, self-expression, and individuality among the children staying at Covenant House. Each vignette centers on a unique character, celebrating their personality and reflecting the real experiences of youth who find support and care within the space.

LAUNDRY SCENE- BREAKDOWN OF FOAM SHADER
Step 1 (opt): Process: Suds base with clear bubble map fed through opacity

clear bubble map 1

clear bubble map 2 (inverted)

BUBBLE OPACITY MAPS- you can place this either in opacity or transmission for desired clear bubble. I made these texture maps in procreate with a simple paint splatter brush, to stylize the bubbles.
For more realistic bubbles- you'll need to follow a pattern of an Apollonian gasket fractal (fig.1).

bubbles follow a pattern of mutually tangent circles, they will never touch at 3 tangental points. something like this will aid in true realism but for this shader it is highly stylized.

fig.1

Step 2- fat popping clear bubble look- base shader not applied. you can feed the clear bubble map 1 into transmission.
Step 3- THE SNOWY FOAM LOOK, this is when you turn the SSS up, place one of the clearbubble maps into displacement node (this will create the foamy bubble look)
lastly pick up a iridescent map from online I used this
onehttps://stock.adobe.com/images/ultraviolet-teal-and-neon-slimy-ink-iridescent-swirl-background-texture/189703333
(not my image, it can be ANY like image) to create the rainbow bubbly swirls. This will be fed into your specular node.

here above you can see how vital the iridescent map is to contribute to the foamy look. depending on the scale you will need to adjust your UV map bc the bubble indents will be too large to read as foam- remember scale is key here. Goodluck let me know if you try it out shoot me an email if you have any questions:

THE BASKETBALL
BASKETBALL: This task was all about reimagining a basketball with a handmade, textural quality—something that felt like paper or stop-motion animation. This look development pitch explored that tactile, crafted aesthetic, offering a contrast to the final direction. While the team ultimately went with a smoother, cleaner look overall, this was a fun opportunity to experiment with textures and help shape the visual identity of the world we were building.
